Outpatient Occupational Therapist OR Physical Therapist | Lymphedema

Location: Avera Therapy-Plaza 5, Sioux Falls, SD. Worker Type: Regular. Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America). Pay Range: $30.75 - $53.75 (actual pay rate dependent upon experience). Position Highlights This position is located in Sioux Falls, SD. Pay for Physical Therapist: $39.05 – $59.12. Pay for Occupational Therapist: $33.83 – $50.87. The role will accept either an SD‑licensed Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist; lymphedema experience greatly preferred. Avera will cover costs to become lymphedema certified. $15,000 sign‑on bonus is eligible with a 3‑year commitment. Student loan repayment: The position may be eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program; each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster. What you will do Evaluate assigned patients, gathering data from a variety of sources such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members. Develop and implement individualized treatment programs for patients needing services. Use selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health, and to achieve treatment goals; establish and modify interventions and strategies for patients’ treatment program based on ongoing evaluation. Provide direct therapy services to patients using various functional settings and strategies, plan therapy within the patient’s individual physical, emotional and intellectual capabilities as indicated and coordinated with the rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans. Prepare documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and other reports. Communicate effectively with the patient, family, physician, and other disciplinary team members regarding the patient’s status, progress and needs. Establish rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (including family/physician) throughout the patient’s intervention program. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings, workshops, etc. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified and perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate for the position and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Physical Therapist: Licensing Board – an active license in the state of practice upon hire. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1–3 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist.
