Overview Sentara BelleHarbour Emergency Department (ED) in Suffolk, VA, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast‑paced, team‑centered emergency department. The role offers a dynamic environment with 22 treatment spaces, including fast‑track, focused care, and high‑acuity care rooms. Nurses provide care for adult and pediatric patients and support both patients and staff in a collaborative, technology‑enabled setting. Sign‑on bonus available up to $20,000 for qualified candidates, and new graduate sign‑on of $7,500. Location Suffolk, Virginia. Work Hours & Shifts Multiple shifts are available: Full Time 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Full Time 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Full Time 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. Weekend requirement: Every third weekend. Call requirement: Full‑time nurses have 24 hours of required call per six weeks; part‑time nurses have 12 hours. Orientation Experienced RN orientation period: 10 weeks on the unit. Responsibilities The RN will provide competent nursing care following the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination, health promotion, and evaluation). Standards include professional performance in ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. Nurses will use critical thinking and clinical knowledge to manage a variety of acute care scenarios within the ED.
