Overview
Registered Nurse - Long Term Care unit in Newark, NY. Travel assignment beginning 09/01/2026 for a period measured in weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,188 to $1,251 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: 5x8 evenings. Setting: skilled nursing facility with a 42-bed long-term care unit.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics, including dementia and behavior management, arthritis, CHF, and post-stroke populations.
- Administer medications per physician orders and monitor for adverse effects; perform IM/SQ injections and pain assessment as needed.
- Conduct ongoing vital signs monitoring, wound care (including wounds with drains) and pressure ulcer prevention; manage Foley catheters, ostomies, and feeding tubes as applicable.
- Deliver care planning and intervention for stroke/CVA patients; apply stroke scale assessment and de-escalation techniques for dementia-related behaviors.
- Support the interprofessional team (PT, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, unit secretary) with timely communication and charting in EPIC.
- Document care delivery and patient status in EPIC; ensure accurate labeling of specimens and adherence to isolation precautions.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York in-hand at time of submittal.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement.
- Ability to work in a 42-bed long-term care / skilled nursing unit with patient ratios: Days 1:21, Nights 1:42, Weekends 1:21.
- Floating to other units as needed per facility requirements.
- Locals within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted.
- Orientation completed prior to or at start; pre-approved time off up to 1 day per contract.
