Sr. Specialist, Cybersecurity Engineering

Merck seeks a Senior Specialist in Cybersecurity Engineering to secure enterprise platforms through implementation of security controls, automation, and risk reduction. The role involves partnering with platform teams across SAP, Salesforce, Databricks, Microsoft 365, and other strategic systems to embed security and maintain operational resilience.

Responsibilities

Engineer and maintain security controls across strategic enterprise platforms and SaaS/PaaS services
Conduct security assessments, control validation, and drive compliance readiness activities
Develop automation, controls-as-code, and reusable security patterns for operational efficiency
Monitor platform security posture, investigate gaps, and drive remediation of findings
Partner with platform teams to improve resilience, secure adoption, and operational procedures

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years cybersecurity engineering, cloud security, platform security, or DevSecOps experience
Fluent in modern AI technologies and practical enterprise use cases
Hands-on experience implementing security controls in PaaS, SaaS, or enterprise platforms
Knowledge of Kubernetes, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native technologies
Experience with identity security, security automation, logging, monitoring, vulnerability remediation
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

Compensation: $117,000-$184,200 base
