About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: State license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department - Level III Trauma Center experience - First time travelers accepted Description: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care in a fast-paced emergency room setting. Candidates must have experience in both adult and pediatric emergency care. Knowledge of interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required. The nurse will manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Skills in blood product administration and central line care are essential. Phlebotomy and starting IVs are required duties. The role also includes administering continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors. Candidates should be comfortable managing CVA, neuro-trauma, and spinal cord injuries. Experience with various trauma cases, including gunshot wounds and traumatic brain injuries, is required. The Registered Nurse must also assess and manage conditions such as abdominal pain, asthma, infections, and mental/behavioral health conditions. Experience with ventilated patients and urinary tract infections is necessary. The position involves a patient ratio of 1:5. Familiarity with charting systems, particularly EPIC, is a must. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing key support in patient care. Weekend coverage is required, specifically every other weekend. Candidates should have strong critical thinking and communication skills. Involvement in triage and procedural sedation may be necessary in this role. Additional preferred skills include CPI and TCAR certifications. The Registered Nurse will play an integral role in the care and recovery of patients during emergencies.
