DutiesYou will support Fleet operation to improvement mission readiness to generate all Technical Documentation utilizing system engineering process to ensure Radar System will fully support fleet sustainment and operation.You will provide Radar System engineering leadership and to function as a technical expert with authority to independently manage and accomplish complex engineering projects.You will serve on various station organizations, engineering and test and evaluation working groups as the Sensors and Displays ISE Branch representative and participates in various cross-station technical meetings and occasional off-site activities.You will troubleshoot, repair, perform data collection and data analysis and to provide recommendation based upon test observation and data collected during fleet operations to assessment AN/SPQ-9B Radar readiness.You will provide the engineering technical expertise and leadership in the fleet test and evaluation and deployment for AN/SPQ-9B Radar system.You will support Radar Test and Evaluation efforts to improve fleet readiness to assist the fleet in resolving shipboard Radar issues and/ or assist the Ship's assigned local RMC In troubleshooting and equipment repair.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a US Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 pay band (GS-9 through GS-11 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer conducting test and evaluations to resolve issues of the components, subsystems and support systems in shipboard combat systems. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
