Director of Trust and Financial Planning Horsham, PA Direct Report : Board of Directors Responsible for the operations and growth of the Special Needs Education & Resource Foundation (SNERF) and its special needs pooled trust. This includes daily functioning of the pooled trust, compliance, client maintenance, and plans for expansion in additional states, additional non-profits. This would also include any additional trust products that would be appropriate Oversees the solicitation, evaluation, and disbursement of pooled trust grants as well as the growth of the I/DD art collection and leasing thereof. The Director would also have the authority to plan and execute additional charitable activities in line with the company’s mission. Essential Duties and Responsibilities A. General & Administrative Articulates mission, vision, and priority goals of SNERF to the Board of Directors and to stakeholders. Oversees direction setting, long-range planning, program design and evaluation. Supervises and conducts the annual performance evaluation of the trust and of the entity. Supervises trust administrator(s) in day-to-day operation of the trust including questions on compliance, authorizing new accounts, signing distribution requests, and so forth. Interacts with client institutions and the trust financial advisor when necessary. Solicits, evaluates, accepts, and disburses grants from the pooled trust and the entity. Responsible for other charitable activities of the entity including the handling of the SNERF art collection, artistic partnerships and leases and/or donations. In charge of hiring and personnel decisions, as needed. Oversees the development and ongoing updating of all program policies and procedures. B. Finance Establishes annual budget plan for the entity including revenue, expenses and balance projections. Assures that a half-year report is generated for the Board of Directors. Oversees the accurate recording of cash flow and overall financial position of the organization. Decides whether or not to offer additional trust products in addition to the first-party special needs pooled trust on offer. Maintains appropriate levels of insurance to protect the property and cover liability. Oversees the annual review of all employee benefits. Responsible for grant writing program and personnel in assistance thereof. C. Board of Directors Keeps the Board of Directors fully informed on all significant issues relative to the pooled trust and other activities of the entity. Assists the Board in fulfilling its responsibility for oversight and assuring the mission is fulfilled on an ongoing basis. Recommends and advises the Board regarding governance policies and procedures. Attends as a member ex officio of all standing committees of the Board and regular Board meetings. Supports and provides input to the Board Officers and committees in fulfilling their responsibilities. D. Development, Public Relations and Marketing Assist in designing and executing a website; interactivity with clients as well as grants. Supervises and conducts development efforts in conjunction with the Board. Primary representative of SNERF in its relations with local, state and federal agencies and other relevant organizations. Represents SNERF before the media where appropriate. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control act of 1986. Bachelor’s degree from accredited university required. An advanced degree in business/finance or law is preferred. Trust experience and particularly special needs trusts/special needs pooled trusts is a must. Non-profit experience in I/DD or special needs providers. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients, parents and the general public. Must be able to work in a cooperative and supportive manner with staff, clients, parents, and Board of Directors.
