Founded in 2020, Doorvest is a real estate technology and investment platform that democratizes access to single-family rental investing. Headquartered in San Francisco and backed by top-tier venture firms including M13, Mucker Capital, and Gaingels, we’ve helped hundreds of investors build wealth through institutional-grade real estate.

We run an end-to-end platform spanning acquisition, management, and exits, with curated single-family rentals across six-plus markets including Ohio, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Oregon. We’ve crossed $100M in assets under management and distributed more than $36M in rent to investors. We are scaling fast, and we run our operations like a technology company: distributed teams, a managed vendor network, and a heavy reliance on data and tooling to move faster than a traditional property manager ever could.

We are hiring a General Manager to own our Oregon market, centered on Bend and Redmond. You are accountable for everything that happens to our homes here: that they are well maintained, that owner and tenant requests get resolved, that homes turn quickly, and that the market performs. We are open to other Central Oregon locations for the right person, on a hybrid schedule of three days per week in market. You will not run this alone — our Central Operations team supports you on coordination, accounting, and back-office work — but the outcome in this market is yours.

The majority of this job is maintenance and turns. Most weeks, most of your time goes to making sure work actually gets done on the ground: inspections scoped, work orders dispatched, vendors and maintenance technicians held to the date, and homes brought back to rent-ready fast. You will dispatch your local vendors and techs yourself. You will also stay close to leasing — showing homes when that is what the day calls for, running standups with local leasing agents, and keeping the pipeline moving.

This is a local, hands-on job for someone who wants to own a market rather than administer a portfolio. You need to know property management, know Central Oregon, and know Oregon landlord-tenant law. You should be comfortable living in software and switching tools as we build better ones, and comfortable telling us what to build — you are the one using it every day.

• Own the performance of the Central Oregon market — occupancy, turn time, maintenance quality, cost, and owner and tenant satisfaction.
\n
• Keep every home in the market well maintained. You own the condition of the portfolio, not just the open work order list.
\n
• Dispatch local vendors and maintenance technicians day to day, and hold them to cost, quality, and turnaround.
\n
• Own turnovers end to end: move-out inspection, scope, work orders, and getting the home rent-ready and listed quickly.
\n
• Resolve owner and tenant maintenance and home requests. You are the local face of Doorvest and the escalation point when something goes wrong.

• Support leasing: show homes when needed, run standups with local leasing agents, and keep applications and move-ins moving.
\n
• Build and manage the local vendor bench: source, onboard, price, and performance-review the contractors and technicians who do the work.
\n
• Lead and grow the local team, and partner with Central Operations so centralized work stays centralized and local work stays with you.

• Keep the market compliant with Oregon landlord-tenant law (ORS Chapter 90), including the statewide rent cap, just-cause termination rules, and the notice requirements that come with them, along with local habitability and inspection standards.

• Work in our systems and live in the data, and give Central Operations the operator feedback that improves the tooling.

• 5+ years in property management or residential real estate operations, with real single-family or scattered-site experience — not only on-site multifamily.
\n
• 3+ years leading teams, with a track record of hiring, coaching, and holding people to a standard.
\n
• Experience running distributed operations — work happening at dozens of addresses at once, through people you do not sit next to.
\n
• Working knowledge of Oregon landlord-tenant law, and the judgment to know when to call counsel.
\n
• Genuine knowledge of Central Oregon: which neighborhoods rent, what they rent for, and which vendors are worth calling.

• Able to be mobile throughout central Oregon, with most homes centered in Redmond or Bend
\n
• Software-flexible: comfortable in property management software and new tools, and quick to adapt when we change the stack.
\n
• High ownership and a bias toward action — as comfortable in a vacant house as on a video call.
\n
• Based in or near Bend or Redmond, working a hybrid schedule of three days per week in market; other Central Oregon locations considered. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and comfortable with a flexible schedule, including the occasional evening or weekend as the business requires.

This is not a desk job and it is not a remote one. If you want to run a market from a dashboard and let someone else handle the vendors, the vacant homes, and the frustrated owner on a Friday afternoon, this is the wrong role. It is also not an asset-management or portfolio-analyst seat — the work is operational and physical. We’re looking for an operator who knows this market, wants to be accountable for it, and will use good technology to run it better than a traditional property manager could.
