KEY HOLDER

Summary Description :

The Key Holder assists store management in the efficient operation of the retail store; leads retail store staff as assigned in the absence of store management.

Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities:

• Key Holder assists in providing and maintaining a safe environment for customers and employees on the sales floor and production area.
• Opens, closes consults with Store Manager, District Manager/ASD and Director of Stores when necessary.
• Maintains excellent customer service and employee relations.
• Reconciles receipts, currency and production reports.
• Utilizes spreadsheets to complete reports, communicates via email and keeps up to date with processes and procedures.
• Assigns specific duties to store associates and follows up on progress.
• Maintains excellent housekeeping standards.
• Attends all required management training courses and skill development training classes.
• Able to lift, carry, push and pull at least 50 lbs.
• Works flexible shifts and overtime when needed.
• Performs necessary janitorial work.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Performs limited supervisory duties in the absence of store management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or its equivalent, preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year retail experience required.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Demonstrated maturity and leadership skills in leading entry-level employees.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, self-starter a plus.
• Excellent customer relations skills.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proficient and basic knowledge of computer programs in a Windows® environment including Word, Excel and email.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.Ability to handle confidential information.
• Punctual and dependable attendance.
• Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
• Understands the basic philosophy of Goodwill and participates fully in carrying out its mission.
