Client Overview
Vernovis is partnering with a leading organization to identify an experienced Accounting Manager to join its growing Finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal audits, process improvement initiatives, and team development while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

What You'll Do

• Lead the monthly close process and review financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, account reviews, and reporting of significant financial adjustments.
• Review weekly and monthly operational reports, investigate variances, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve reporting discrepancies.
• Oversee internal audit activities, evaluate financial and operational risks, and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Partner with operational and finance teams to provide guidance on accounting matters and improve financial processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Present financial analyses, project updates, and recommendations to leadership and key business partners.
• Support acquisitions and business integration activities, including due diligence, post-close compliance, and ongoing financial reporting.
• Support accounting system implementations, upgrades, and special projects across the finance organization.
• Assist with tax-related activities, corporate accounting projects, regulatory compliance, and other finance initiatives as needed.

What Experience You'll Have

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive process improvements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working within ERP or enterprise accounting systems.
• Prior leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

What Experience Is Nice to Have

• CPA certification or progress toward certification.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or business integration projects.
• Internal audit or public accounting experience.
• Experience leading accounting system implementations or process transformation initiatives.
• Multi-location or operational accounting experience.

• Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed for audits, acquisitions, and special projects.
