At Hewing Hotel, the Ambassador owns the guest experience, ensuring that no need goes unmet and no opportunity to make a guest's visit special is missed. The PBX Operator knows the ins and outs of both the hotel and the surrounding community. They have a gracious demeanor and warm presence which makes every guest know that they have selected the right place. This position turns details and tidbits about guests into recognition and actions that make a stay at Hewing Hotel a personal, one-of-a-kind experience.WHAT YOU WILL DOResponsible for answering the hotel phone according to hotel standards– provide answers to questions, and take hotel or restaurant reservationsSpeaks clearly, distinctly, and with a friendly, courteous toneAccurately directs incoming calls to guest rooms, hotel personnel, or departmentsTakes and distributes messages for guests, provides information on guest services and/or public hotel eventsMaintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standardsDemonstrate proficient knowledge of hotel POS and PMS systemsAssist in monitoring and posting any necessary charges to guest rooms and house accountsDevelop a complete working knowledge of the hotel's menus, menu ingredients and what is available for the dayFollow the established procedures to ensure knowledgeable, correct delivery of hotel informationUnderstands guest service needs and exceed guest expectations by taking advantage of opportunities to add a special touchRecord all guest charges accuratelyRecommend service and product improvement to better the operationKeep the work area clean and tidy at all timesAttend all required meetingsMaintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standardsAssist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by managementWHAT YOU WILL NEEDGood reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English languageMust have a high school education or equivalent experienceAbility to work well unsupervisedAbility to multitaskProficient computer skillsAbility to work alone without direct supervisionDemonstration of a high degree of drive and determinationDue to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotelAbility to work in a dog-friendly environmentAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, Aparium Hospitality Services celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive environment, and sense of belonging for all employees.
