EVCS Technician

Insight Global is seeking an EVCS Technician for a leading clean energy and EV infrastructure client. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the rapidly expanding EV charging network by installing, maintaining, and repairing charging systems across a designated territory. Working as a field-based technician, this person will leverage strong electrical troubleshooting expertise to diagnose and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime for commercial and fleet customers such as logistics and delivery companies. The role combines hands-on technical work with customer interaction, requiring independence, problem-solving ability, and professionalism. Duration: Permanent

Salary: ~$79K annually + OT (equivalent to ~$35-$38/hr base)

Location: Field-based (home dispatch); territory covering ~3-hour radius

Schedule: Monday-Friday, typically between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flex based on dispatch); overtime as needed

Relocation: Local candidates preferred (home-based territory model)

Must-Haves:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical, EV, or related field service
• Strong high-voltage electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Commercial or industrial electrical background (non-telecom)
• Experience working independently in the field with minimal supervision
• Customer-facing experience with strong professionalism and communication
• Ability to travel frequently (50%-75%), including driving and occasional overnight stays
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Comfortable working with high-voltage systems in varying conditions
• Ability to accurately document work and use field service software
• Willingness to maintain personal tools
• Comfortable with domestic travel for training/projects

Plusses:

• Experience with EV charging systems or EV technology
• Background in solar, generators, or military electrical (e.g., Navy nuclear/electrical)
• Experience with Salesforce, ServiceMax, or similar platforms
• Associate's degree or technical certifications
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license
• Preventative maintenance or service contract experience
• Experience identifying upsell/service opportunities

Day-to-Day:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair EV charging stations onsite
• Perform electrical/mechanical repairs using diagnostic tools
• Travel to customer sites and independently manage service calls
• Document repairs, upload photos, and maintain detailed reports
• Communicate with dispatch, customers, and internal teams
• Coordinate with third-party vendors as needed
• Monitor charger/system performance and escalate issues
• Provide strong customer service in fast-paced environments
• Identify opportunities for additional services (PMs, upgrades)
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols
• Maintain company vehicle and tools
