Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Position Overview

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is a pivotal role within an ambulatory setting, providing essential support to a specialized medical team. This position involves coordination of care for a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on complex cases within oncology. The CNC will work alongside a team of nurses and collaborate closely with medical and surgical oncology providers to ensure comprehensive patient management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with medical and surgical oncology.
• Assist in obtaining medical records and scheduling diagnostic scans.
• Provide support and maintain thorough communication with patients and their families.
• Utilize clinical skills in patient-facing roles, including IV placement, port access, skin/wound care, trach care, and PEG tube management.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and care strategies.

Work Schedule

• Scheduled for 10-hour days, Monday through Friday.
• Orientation includes multiple required training sessions during the first week.
• No weekend or on-call requirements.
• Holiday requirements based on unit needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a registered nurse in a clinic setting, handling both adult and pediatric patients.
• Experience in patient-facing roles is essential, particularly in skills such as IV placement and trach care.
• Preferred experience in Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Emergency Department, or Intensive Care Unit.
• A current RN license in the state of Kansas and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities are crucial for this role.

Additional Information

This role operates in a nicotine-free environment and allows for the cancellation of two shifts per month without cost to the client or pay to the employee, provided a minimum of 2 hours' notice is given.
