Food Service WorkerCalvary Church, Lancaster, PAPart time support staff – Non ExemptPurpose: Responsible to work in Food Services, and Facilities for the purpose of supporting and assisting all ministries as they encourage others to pursue life in Christ.Working Relationship: Accountable to the Board of Elders through the Senior Pastor and Director of Facility Services, with direct supervision by Director of Food Services.Qualifications:6+ months of food service experience preferred or willing to learn.Competent communication skills, both verbal and written.Basic mathematical skills.Proficient understanding of food allergies and modified diets.Proficient understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points requirements.Good people skills. An ability to be a team-playerAvailable to work shifts and extended hours.Values and BeliefsMust be a professing Christian who affirms the Calvary Church doctrinal basis, vision and values and philosophy of ministryMust be able to support the vision of Calvary ChurchAble to protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality.Demonstrate a high level of trustworthiness.ResponsibilitiesRole: Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in one or more of a variety of food service environments. May perform such duties as preparing salad items, hot foods, and/or cold foods, and/or assisting in the preparation of bakery items, as appropriate to the position.General ResponsibilitiesPerforming preparation duties such as rinsing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruit and vegetables.Weighing and measuring ingredients.Wrapping, date-labeling, and storing food items.Cleaning and organizing work areas, equipment, utensils, and service station.Following established recipes to prepare menu items.Following guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control.Serving customers in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner.Providing customers with information regarding food ingredients, availability, and pricing.Escalating customer concerns and complaints to management.Complying with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards and procedures.Work Schedule and Time AllotmentWork schedule: Part-time, flexible related to events and meals.Potential Sunday and evening responsibilitiesAvailable to work shifts and extended hours.To be managed and accounted for in cooperation with designated supervisor.Physical and Mental RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you need to perform optimally in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. Preferred candidates are fast-paced, organized, and dexterous.Light physical work requirements (lifting 10-20 lbs.), prolonged standing, potential reaching, climbing, occasionally outside in differing weather conditions.
