Assistant Boys Golf Coach

Position Description Jacobs High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of an assistant boys golf coach with a strong knowledge of high school golf and a focus on student‑athletic achievement. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, be organized, flexible, take direction from the head coach and/or direct supervisor, and work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club. 2026 - 2027 School Year Jacobs High School seeks an assistant boys golf coach for the 2026‑2027 school year. Performance Responsibilities/Requirements/Qualifications Previous high school boys golf coaching experience is required. Ability to coach at all levels within the program. Organized, flexible, and able to take direction from the head coach and/or direct supervisor. Ability to work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club. Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills to compete at a high level. Organize and oversee specific program levels or areas of responsibility. Communicate with the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director to secure facilities, ensuring a safe practice/competition environment for students. Support the philosophy and programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals and proper conditioning. Plan with the head coach for practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical well‑being of student participants. Coordinate with the head coach and Athletic Director all in‑season practices. Ensure all student participants at his/her program level are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and academic eligibility prior to practice, tryout, and competition. Model and instill the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants, enforcing consequences for any breaches. Attend all student‑athlete practices, games, and monitor proper supervision at all practices, games, and school‑provided transportation. Maintain and provide the head coach with end‑of‑season individual and team records and statistics. Participate in a mandatory preseason parent meeting. Assist the head coach in planning the seasonal recognition program. Assist in the orderly distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment. Engage in personal professional development activities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director. Application Procedures Apply online.
