Registered Nurse Clinical Decision Unit

Overview Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and clinically strong Registered Nurse for our Clinical Decision Unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this fast-paced observation and short-stay environment, the RN provides high-quality, evidence-based care to patients who require ongoing assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment to determine the need for hospital admission or safe discharge. The RN is responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, monitoring vital signs and clinical status, administering medications and treatments, coordinating diagnostic tests and procedures, and promptly recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, case management, and the broader interdisciplinary team, the RN helps develop and implement individualized care plans, ensures clear communication of test results and treatment plans, and actively participates in discharge planning and patient education to promote safe transitions of care. Documentation is completed accurately and timely in the electronic health record, following all regulatory and Mission Health policies. The Registered Nurse also plays a key role in promoting patient safety and quality outcomes through adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
