Fiscal Support Specialist

Position Overview Under supervision, this position provides financial and administrative support for the Fiscal Operations team. Primary duties are related to Payroll and the issuance of customer support services. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload, recommend changes in office practices or procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process bi‑weekly payroll including compilation of employee or customer time reporting and payroll data from timesheets. Review employee or customer timesheets for accuracy and completeness and enter payroll data into the payroll system. Review employee or customer payroll reports and other information to ensure accuracy and completeness and resolve payroll discrepancies. Record changes to employee or customer information, including pay rate changes, transfers, and resignations. Provide employee or customer information to managers and employees on minor payroll matters and tax issues. Coordinate Payroll and Work Experience matters with Human Resources. Maintain and update employer contracts database. Review contracts for compliance with applicable policies. Prepare reports to track customer support services costs including Individual Training Accounts (ITAs), training and tuition, transportation and other support costs as authorized by Workforce Solutions. Maintain records for Work Experience and On‑the‑Job‑Training (OJT) Agreements. Complete monthly and ad‑hoc reports. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education / Experience Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field preferred, and 1 year of work‑related experience, preferably in a workforce development environment. Associate Degree from an accredited college and 3 years of work‑related experience, preferably in a workforce development environment. High School Diploma or equivalent required and 5 years of work‑related experience, preferably in a workforce development environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated customer service, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated computer skills, with experience using Office software including spreadsheets and related database programs. Basic accounting knowledge highly preferred. Working knowledge of office machinery and automation, including applicable software packages. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, Board staff, and the general public. May be required to utilize a personal automobile for site‑to‑site travel, requiring a current valid driver’s license and current automobile liability insurance. Must be organized and detail oriented. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands for finger coordination, reach with arms and hands, pull standard file cabinet and vertical file drawers, lift/carry 10 pounds of paper, drive a vehicle, stoop, kneel, talk and hear. Occasional travel required.
