Salary $15.45 - $23.18 Hourly ($32,136 - $48,204 Annually). This position is a Pay Band C1. Job Overview This position will perform custodial duties including cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, removing trash, making minor repairs and exterminating insects and rodents to maintain a clean and sanitary environment at a long‑term care facility. Responsibilities Service, clean or supply restrooms. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Gather and empty trash. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Mix water and detergents or chemicals in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications. Dusting and washing windows. Customers Residents, visitors, and employees at a long‑term care facility. Ideal Candidate Ability to provide customer and personal service. Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and entire body (climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling materials). Ability to work independently with little supervision. Minimum Qualifications No prior experience or training required. Employment Requirements Will be screened for tuberculosis upon hire. Employment is subject to a nationwide criminal background check pursuant to the New Mexico Caregivers Criminal Screening Act and is conditional upon the results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an institutional setting both indoors and outdoors in inclement weather conditions. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset people within the facility. Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. Subject to handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals. Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and bring such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet. Position may require rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays. State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, requiring adherence to all CMS COVID‑related requirements, including masking and staff vaccination.
