Director of Finance And Administration

A privately held, multi-entity organization is looking for a finance and administration leader to take ownership of its accounting operations, financial strategy, and back-office functions. This is a high-visibility role that partners closely with ownership and the senior leadership team on decisions that shape the company's direction. What You'll Do Deliver regular financial performance updates and analysis to ownership and the leadership team. Advise leadership on long-term financial strategy and planning. Take full ownership of accounting operations — AR, AP, general ledger, budgeting, and forecasting. Lead the close process each month, quarter, and year-end, keeping financial statements accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant. Review reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules to keep the general ledger clean and reliable. Act as the point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners, running the annual audit or review process from start to finish. Build and maintain a strong internal-controls framework that protects company assets and keeps reporting accurate across every entity. Write and maintain fiscal policies and procedures, including documented accounting practices. Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships spanning the company and its affiliated entities; coach leadership on financial best practices. Build forecasts and financial models that project results and flag opportunities to cut costs or improve performance. Track changes in accounting standards, tax rules, and industry regulations to keep the company compliant. Take responsibility for HR and administrative operations, including payroll, benefits, onboarding, and workplace safety. Maintain strong vendor and credit relationships across the organization. Hire, train, and lead the accounting and finance team, guiding day-to-day workflow and performance. Act as a trusted financial advisor to ownership and executive leadership across the company and its related entities. What You Bring A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA or CMA is a plus. 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years at the Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, or comparable leadership level. A track record running the full accounting cycle — month-end close, financial statement prep, and GAAP compliance. Hands-on experience leading external audits, tax processes, and banking relationships. Comfort working across multiple entities or business lines. Strong ERP/accounting-systems skills and advanced Excel fluency. Real experience building and leading a finance team, not just managing one you inherited. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the organizational chops to match. A hands-on leadership style — comfortable rolling up your sleeves, not just delegating.
