Assistant Controller

Coda Search is partnering with an PE group that is seeking to hire an Assistant Controller with offices in New York, NY. This is a growing firm that is over $5BN in assets and invests specifically in emerging markets. About the Role The Assistant Controller will be overseeing a portfolio of funds and responsible for preparing the quarterly financials, month-end close, deep support and working closely with the 3rd party admin. Responsibilities Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the firm’s funds and investments. Oversee and review the 3rd party administrator and reconcile any discrepancies. Prepare and review dealing closings and assist with cash flow forecasting and distributions. Manage portfolio valuation processes, including monitoring fair value adjustments and compliance with valuation policies. Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with reporting standards. Partner with the investment team and provide deal support. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance process efficiencies, build reporting automation, and support continuous improvement efforts. Monitor and analyze fund performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to inform business strategy. Qualifications Bachelors in Accounting 8+ years of experience (ideally within PE) Public accounting experience and an active CPA would be a plus Process improvement experience and building efficiencies Preferred Skills Public accounting experience and an active CPA would be a plus Process improvement experience and building efficiencies #J-18808-Ljbffr
