Pharmacist In Charge Opportunity

A well-established closed-door mail order pharmacy is seeking a multi-licensed Pharmacist in Charge to join their strong team on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations primarily on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the possibility of adding a third day in the future. The environment is collaborative, with a dedicated team of six technicians, fellow pharmacists, and other PICs providing robust support.

Location: Silver Spring, MD (working for a pharmacy based in Gaithersburg, MD)

Schedule & Hours:

• Part-Time, 16-24 hours per week
• Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 AM 3 PM
• Potential for additional days as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily pharmacy operations to ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations in a long-term care mail order setting
• Supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, maintaining efficiency and accuracy in medication dispensing
• Review and approve prescriptions and medication orders to guarantee safe, effective therapy for patients
• Maintain quality assurance, controlled substance compliance, and documentation standards
• Collaborate with facility staff, providers, and nursing teams to optimize medication management and patient care
• Support sterile compounding operations if experienced and comfortable, including clean room duties

Qualifications:

• Active Maryland Pharmacist License plus multi-state licenses from: AL, AR, CA, LA, NE, OK, OR, TX (candidates with most, but not all, licenses will be considered)
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience
• Minimum 2 years recent long-term care or mail order pharmacy experience
• Sterile compounding experience is a plus but not mandatory
• Immediate availability preferred

Compensation for this position ranges from $55.00 to $70.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
