Assistant Project Manager - Commercial

Job Details Assistant Project Manager for a General Contractor in Columbus. Medium‑Sized company that offers a chance to work with Owners, Architects and Developers directly. The role involves assisting in the management of commercial construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance and high quality standards. Coordinate with architects, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure project objectives are met. Assist in the preparation and review of project proposals, schedules, budgets and project status reports. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, regulations and quality standards. Attend and participate in project meetings, providing updates on progress, potential risks and proposed solutions. Assist in the resolution of any issues that may arise during the construction process. Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure all contractual obligations are met and client expectations are exceeded. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project documentation, including plans, contracts, change orders and correspondence. Promote and uphold a culture of safety at all times. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a general contracting environment. Proficient in project management software, MS Office and AutoCAD. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and regulations. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Commitment to delivering projects on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
