Donor Relations Specialist

Conducts research on prospective funders(individual, corporate, and foundation). Assists in development-related data reportsdetailing fundraising results. Assists in the planning and executing offundraising events and activities. Raises awareness of SMA Healthcare and itswork at local levels (speaking to groups, etc.). Assists in developing and coordinatingweb-based fundraising. Updates databases to record donor contact andpreference information. Provides content for donor and prospectcommunications as planned for the year in coordination with the PR &Events Specialist, which may include mail appeals, e-appeals,e-newsletters, annual report content, e-blasts, etc. Works with Foundation Executive Director torecognize donors and sponsors via web-based methods, signage and/orsocial media. Completes paperwork documenting donations. Responds to donor questions and requests. Maintains existing sponsor relationships andhelps develop new sponsors through effective communication. Converts new sponsors into committedsupporters through identification of shared goals and values. Remains apprised of trends or issues inrelevant industries that affect business climate or culture and economicenvironment that could impact fundraising. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties asassigned. Qualification Requirements: To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. Minimum Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degreepreferred (Business, Sales/Marketing, Human Service, Social Services or otherrelated fields). Minimum of three (3) years of experience working indevelopment and/or fundraising Sales/Marketing/Public Relations experiencerequired. CFRE Certification is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced environment withexcellent follow-through. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborativeteam. Exceptional communications skills (verbal and written) with theability to speak publicly and interact with a variety of audiences. Time management skills - managing one's own time and respectingtime of others. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional eveningsand weekends. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to travel using own vehicle, and to safely operate a motorvehicle. Communicating with supervisors, peers or subordinates ? Providingtimely and appropriate information to supervisors, co-workers, andsubordinates by telephone, in writing, e-mail and in person. Must be able to work in various indoor facilities and outdoorenvironments with varying weather conditions. Work in a multitude of social settings and with customer segments. Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable drivingrecord, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive anSMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State ofFlorida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during thefirst six (6) months of employment and updated if required. Physical: Mobility and ability to bend andreach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 30 pounds. Visual andauditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record clienthealth care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate charting, dailycorrespondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work enduranceability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, as possible.
