Director, Commercial Data - Animal Health

Merck seeks a Director of Commercial Data to lead Customer Master Data Management across the global Commercial organization. This strategic business role translates commercial priorities into data governance, quality standards, and adoption plans while managing dependencies across Commercial, IT, Privacy, and Analytics stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary business lead and strategic partner for Customer MDM across Commercial organization
• Define and maintain business rules, data quality standards, and decision rights for customer master data
• Chair Customer Data Governance Council to drive decisions, resolve issues, and prioritize initiatives
• Lead global change management and market readiness for Customer MDM rollout and continuous improvement
• Partner with Commercial, IT, Data & Analytics, Privacy, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years industry experience
• Deep master data management expertise with governance and stewardship knowledge
• Strong commercial domain knowledge including sales operations, CRM, and marketing
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional governance forums and resolve conflicts
• Experience with enterprise-scale transformations and operating model evolution
• Global stakeholder leadership across matrixed organizations with limited direct authority
• Understanding of CRM platforms, customer data ecosystems, and analytics
