Commercial Account Manager

JOB OVERVIEW The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing the commercial relationship with assigned customers, including proactively communicating ongoing operations, KPIs, and business conditions to meet or exceed revenue forecasts. The role will work in collaboration with accounting, legal, operations, and engineering & construction teams to deliver superior value to customers and to meet company goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and grow revenue associated with assigned customers. Develop effective commercial relationships and communicate operational KPIs on a regular schedule. Identify growth opportunities and support BWC’s strategy of expanding with customers across the network. Engage internal and external resources to develop a broad understanding of market forces affecting customers. Provide tactical analysis, stewardship, and benchmarking of internal operating assets. Maintain knowledge of industry activity and trends through research and close communication with the internal sales function. Collaborate with Operations, HSE, and Engineering & Construction teams to develop and execute storage and logistics solutions. Deliver compelling commercial presentations to internal stakeholders, current customers, and prospective customers. Present customer-focused KPIs that provide insights into asset utilization and identify optimization opportunities. Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities. Travel up to 25% of the time for customer visits, industry meetings, and terminal activities. Perform other duties assigned as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent commercial experience in the bulk liquid storage space; MBA not required but preferred. Strong analytical and quantitative problem‑solving abilities. Proven success in developing and executing commercial strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex concepts clearly. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial modeling tools, including sensitivity analysis. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards. Knowledge of market dynamics and commodity fundamentals relevant to bulk liquid storage. Strong interpersonal skills; able to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently. Cultural awareness and professionalism in diverse environments. Additional experience that is a plus: logistics experience in truck/rail/marine scheduling; commodity‑specific expertise; understanding of customer logistics value chains; experience managing business plans and delivering on budgeted P&L targets. WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The position is located in the Houston corporate office and will require the applicant to be in the office up to five days a week. While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle tools and equipment, reach, kneel, bend, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, grip, and communicate. Eighty percent of the time is stationary/sitting, and sustained mental effort is regularly required.
