CDL Examiner

Responsible to ensure that the administration of all CDL Examinations are conducted in accordance with applicable local, state and Federal rules and regulations as well as established Company policies and procedures. Qualifications A valid CDL Class A Commercial Driver’s License with all required endorsements. Clean driving record with no moving violations within the last three years. Minimum of three years of over‑the‑road or local driving experience or other criteria acceptable to the Company. Ability to pass and continuously maintain a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, DOT drug screen, and hair follicle test (HFT). Must currently possess or be able to obtain all required local, state, and Federal approvals to be certified as a CDL Examiner. High school diploma, GED, or higher. Effective verbal, non‑verbal, and written communication skills. Physical, intellectual, and leadership ability to perform the duties outlined in this description. Drug‑free workplace compliance – successful completion of a company‑approved pre‑employment drug screen is required as part of the hiring process. Duties and Responsibilities Administer CDL exams as prescribed by applicable state and Federal regulations and Company procedures. Ensure safe driving and operation of testing equipment during exams, and take over controls if unsafe. Maintain the reliability and integrity of CDL exams, including pre‑trip inspection, basic skills, over‑the‑road skills, and security of all testing materials and manuals. Report any testing discrepancies or inaccuracies immediately to the employee’s immediate supervisor. Attend all CDL refresher classes and stay conversant with updates in testing procedures. Maintain a professional, ethical, and respectful demeanor toward all associates, students, test subjects, and third parties at all times. Adhere to all policies and procedures established by the state monitor and the third‑party exam facility. Submit all test evaluations, forms, and required reports associated with CDL third‑party testing in a complete, correct, and timely manner. Wear appropriate uniform and present a neat, clean appearance while on duty. Keep testing equipment properly maintained. Assist with the training department when available, following applicable regulations; may never administer an exam to an individual who received training. Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable work attendance. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Company Management. Pay and Benefits The expected starting pay range for this position is $25.60 – $34.13 per hour. Offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, and vision plans.
