Therapy - RRT Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 48 Experience: Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist License: Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certifications: ACLS, NRP, PALS, or equivalent certification required Must-Have: Experience in Pediatrics, PICU, or NICU Oscillatory ventilator experience within the last five years Experience with Epic Description:Under the direction of department management and according to established policies and procedures, the Respiratory Therapist II demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in respiratory care and assigned patient care areas.The Respiratory Therapist II administers competent care to patients through airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and respiratory care procedures.Responsibilities include administering standard respiratory care, such as aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, and breathing exercises.The role also involves providing comprehensive airway management, including tracheostomy care and endotracheal intubations and extubations.When working with transport services, responsibilities may include safely transporting pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals.The position may require performing advanced procedures such as UAC, UVC, and IV insertions, as well as blood glucose monitoring.When managing ECMO patients, the therapist may oversee extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support.On-call duties may be required, including responding to needs during days, nights, weekends, and holidays.The Respiratory Therapist II will ensure proper ventilator setup and monitoring, applying appropriate weaning techniques as needed.Continuous professional development and functioning independently with minimal supervision are expected.The therapist serves as a resource to other staff, reflecting an advanced experience level.Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret clinical information are essential.Mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills are necessary for effectively navigating technical situations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
