Job Description We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with 5‑8 years of experience in lighting, power, and low‑voltage consulting engineering to join our team of progressive, highly respected multi‑discipline engineers in our Westminster, CO office location. Ideal applicants will be well‑versed in all aspects of electrical design and project management. In this role you will perform the following functions: Develop electrical engineering design deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations, testing requirements, acceptance criteria, reports, electrical studies, feasibility studies/condition surveys, etc. Review and prepare project drawings including electrical site plans, one‑line diagram, demolition plans, lighting and power plans, calculations pertinent to the design, and panel and equipment schedules. Visit sites to collect existing electrical data and verify/confirm information provided on existing drawings. Collaborate with Owner, Client, and design partners for a coordinated design. Familiarity with relevant codes like NEC, ICC Codes especially IBC and IECC, and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes, adopted amendments, and client standards. Work with Revit and AutoCAD designers and produce clean markups to clearly communicate design changes needed. Use Coffman’s software to complete project invoices with the support of Coffman’s billing specialists, and manage and track project budget. Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit calculations. Perform photometric calculations using lighting software. Manage and design multiple concurrent projects. Develop fee and qualification‑based proposals. Ability to travel (mainly local area travel but travel outside CO may be needed). Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with electrical power emphasis) PE license in Electrical Engineering, required Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design consisting of lighting and power systems. Low‑voltage design experience, preferred. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Project Management experience and/or certifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel. Experience in designing electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, federal/DoD, science and technology, and/or data center projects, preferred. Local AHJ experience and relationship, preferred. Experience with electrical studies, preferred (SKM, E‑Tap, EasyPower).
