Summary of Responsibilities:

The Resident Assistant (RA) provides compassionate, person-centered care and supportive services to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), promoting resident comfort, dignity, safety, and independence, and creating a warm, engaging home-like environment. Working under the supervision of the Resident Care Director or designated leadership, the Resident Assistant collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver exceptional resident care in accordance with individualized support plans, company policies, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Employees are expected to maintain required competencies and training while demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to exceptional resident service.

Essential Functions/Duties:

• Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Provide compassionate, person-centered assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transfers, dining assistance, continence care, and personal hygiene while promoting resident dignity, independence, and choice.
• Provide emotional support, companionship, cueing, supervision, and redirection for residents, particularly those living with memory impairment.
• Observe residents' physical, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive well-being and promptly communicate changes in condition to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
• Assist residents with mobility, transportation, repositioning, wellness checks, and participation in activities and engagement programs that promote quality of life.
• Respond promptly to resident requests, call systems, emergencies, incidents, and safety concerns while ensuring resident comfort and security.
• Accurately document resident care, observations, behaviors, and assigned information in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with meal service, hydration, feeding assistance, and monitoring residents' nutritional intake.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, linen changes, room organization, and other instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, healthcare providers, vendors, and fellow team members to support coordinated, high-quality resident care.
• Follow all company policies, infection prevention protocols, resident rights, HIPAA requirements, safety procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Participate in shift reports, staff meetings, required training, quality improvement initiatives, and emergency preparedness activities.
• Support operational needs by assisting coworkers, mentoring new team members when assigned, and providing scheduling flexibility or temporary coverage at other company locations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time, Part-time, and PRN positions available

• Ability to read, write, speak, hear, and understand English sufficiently to safely perform essential job duties.
• Basic computer and electronic documentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care while maintaining resident dignity and privacy.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. (Required)
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience in a personal care home, assisted living, healthcare, or senior living environment (Preferred)
• Previous direct care or caregiving experience (Preferred)

Work Authorization/ Clearances:

• Criminal History Clearances
• FBI fingerprint clearance (if required)
• Pre-employment drug screening (if applicable)
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Current CPR, and First Aid Certification (Required or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
• Successful completion of all required orientation, competency evaluations, and ongoing education requirements.

Physical Requirements and Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and assist residents throughout scheduled shifts.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and transfer up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to safely administer medications and complete required documentation.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and flexible schedules as needed.
