Job Summary:
The location is in Springfield, Illinois. This position is for a Cytologist (Cyto Tech) working in an outpatient laboratory setting. It involves performing various cytology procedures, including the preparation and examination of specimens such as ascitic fluid, bronchial, esophageal, gastric, spinal, urine, and Thin-Prep samples. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 5x8 days (07:00 AM - 03:30 PM), minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active certification as an American Society for Clinical Pathology - Cytotechnologist (ASCP-CT), Illinois license must be active and in hand at time of submission. Minimum 3 years' experience required. Outpatient laboratory experience is essential.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner electronic medical records system.
• Float: No float rotation required.
• Additional Information:
  • Location: Springfield, Illinois.
  • Position involves assisting with on-site procedures, quality control, specimen labeling, and cytology lab preparation.
  • Must be pre-closed at the time of submission, with confirmed start date and housing arrangements.
  • Candidate must be willing to work during major holidays (at least 2 out of 3 major holidays).
  • Vaccination requirements include the flu vaccine; exemptions are available for medical or religious reasons.
  • Candidate must understand and agree to compliance and submission requirements, including background check disclosure and fingerprinting.
