Job Title: Metal Grinding Technician Job Description

The Metal Grinding Technician will play a crucial role in the aerospace production line, responsible for surface grinding metal rings that cover aircraft engines. This position requires the ability to interpret blueprints and perform heavy lifting in a fast-paced production environment.

• Surface grind metal rings for aircraft engines ensuring precision and quality.
• Interpret and follow blueprints to meet production specifications.
• Utilize hand grinders and other equipment in the production process.
• Perform heavy lifting as required during the production process.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols.

• Proficiency in using hand grinders and interpreting blueprints.
• Experience in a production environment, especially in aerospace manufacturing.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting and handle physical demands of the job.

• Comfortable with prolonged periods of physical activity.
• Experience in a machine shop or similar setting is advantageous.

Work in an aerospace machine shop with a focus on safety and efficiency. The department is equipped with steel dust collection systems and requires wearing non-slip resistant steel toe boots and respirators. PPE such as smock suits are provided for protection from debris. The grinding room features multiple fans and stations, operating in an open-air shop setting, which may be warm and physically demanding due to the use of headgear and masks. Note that the environment does not include air conditioning.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harbor City, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
