The Prince George's County Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T) is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Clean Energy Manager ( Planner 4G ) grade G27 position in the Office of Transportation About the Position The County is conducting a national search for a senior-level Planner IV / ZEB Project Manager to lead one of the region's most ambitious transit electrification and facility resilience initiatives. This role will drive the transition to 75% zero-emission bus fleet by 2030 and 100% zero emission bus fleet by 2045. The selected candidate will serve as the Agency's senior subject matter expert for fleet electrification, charging infrastructure deployment, facility resilience, and clean energy integration across transit operations. This is a high-impact leadership position for a professional who has successfully delivered complex, capital-intensive infrastructure programs and understands the operational realities of public transit systems. This is not a policy role. It is an execution role. Prince George's County is committed to measurable progress, operational reliability, and long-term resilience in the face of climate and grid challenges. The Clean Energy Project Manager will be the central to delivering the transformation. About the Agency
The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) is responsible for nearly 2,000 miles of County-maintained roadways that range from rural to urban classifications. The transportation infrastructure includes 900 bridges, as well as shoulders, sidewalks, curbs/gutters, stormwater management facilities, driveway aprons and nearly 3,000 acres of grassy area -- all of which are maintained by staff of the Department. DPW&T's workforce keeps the County's various services moving by performing a myriad of activities which include removing snow and ice from County-maintained roadways, upgrading traffic signals, installing streetlights, clearing fallen trees, unclogging drainage inlets and maintaining stormwater management facilities, as well as performing roadway repairs ranging from potholes and sidewalk trip hazards to bridge repairs and resurfacing projects and more.

Examples of Work
- Lead planning, procurement, and deployment of zero-emission buses and charging infrastructure
- Manage $5M+ capital projects, including vehicle acquisition and facility upgrades
- Oversee design, engineering, construction, and commissioning of ZEB charging systems
- Develop funding strategies and financial plans to support long-term fleet transition
- Coordinate with utilities, state and federal agencies, and regional partners
- Lead whole-facility resilience assessments (energy, security, communications, operations)
- Develop data-driven performance evaluation frameworks
- Provide executive briefings and represent the County in high-level stakeholder settings
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in business or public administration, urban and regional planning, environmental studies, economics, energy policy, urban studies, housing and community development, public health or closely related field
- A minimum of three (3) years of responsible professional planning/program development experience in the area of assignment to include at least one (1) years of lead/supervisory experience
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license

- Experience managing large-scale capital acquisition and infrastructure deployment
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local transportation policy and funding programs
