About the Role:

USI's Enterprise Software Architecture team sets enterprise architecture and security standards, builds shared software capabilities, and evaluates emerging technologies - including AIassisted development and agentbased tooling - to help application teams deliver solutions efficiently and at scale. In this role, you'll contribute handson to production systems while also shaping patterns, platforms, and tooling used across the organization. Each architect has a primary focus area (R&D, developer experience, or common enterprise functionality), aligned to both business needs and individual strengths.

Successful architects on this team are curious builders who enjoy experimenting with new technologies - including AIassisted development workflows - and thoughtfully applying them in realworld environments. They take a practical, systemsoriented approach, balancing sound architecture with delivery timelines and crossteam needs. This role works closely with engineering, product, and platform teams, so clear communication and collaboration are essential. Comfort navigating evolving priorities and incomplete requirements is important, as the work often spans discovery through delivery.

What You'll Do:

• Design and build enterprise-shared components and frameworks using React, TypeScript, and .NET/C#.
• Drive the adoption of AI-assisted development and agentic workflows to accelerate delivery across application teams.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and shared code libraries for application teams.
• Define and evolve architecture, coding, and security standards; create reference architectures and integration designs; lead code reviews.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging technologies, identify risks and constraints early, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Partner with product teams on cross-cutting designs, remove technical roadblocks, and mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of delivered systems; support production incidents and drive root-cause analysis.
• Break down complex initiatives into well-defined workstreams and communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to leadership.

Cyber Security Job Responsibilities:

• Operate in accordance with USI Policies for the Information Security Program (PISP) and USI Standards for the Information Security Program (SISP).
• Stay current with security updates and improvements, implementing enhancements as appropriate.
• Protect systems against unauthorized access by appropriately defining access controls.
• Upgrade systems by implementing and maintaining security and technical controls.

What We're Looking For:

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an architect, staff, or principal-level role delivering enterprise-scale systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Expert-level experience building large-scale production systems with React/TypeScript and C#/.NET.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, including system integrations, third-party APIs, and event-driven contracts.
• Advanced experience with database design and performance tuning across relational and NoSQL platforms.
• Proven frontend architecture expertise, including state management, component systems, performance optimization, and micro-frontend patterns.
• Demonstrated success designing and governing shared libraries across multiple teams and technology stacks.
• Experience designing cloud-native systems and building CI/CD pipelines with Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Solid understanding of application security, including authentication and authorization patterns, secrets management, and secure API design.
• Comprehensive testing expertise and ability to diagnose and resolve distributed system issues under pressure.
• Analytical and curious approach, with the ability to assess and thoughtfully adopt new tools and technologies.

Salary Range: $150,000- $165,000. This is a bonus eligible position with a target incentive of 10%.
