Ro le description: The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist will be responsible for supporting and monitoring the Environmental, Health, and Safety program for the Bridgeton, NJ plant with a focus on the prevention and control of occupational injury and illnesses. Responsibilities:

- Auditing operations for adherence to EHS audit protocols, EHS and food safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Administer programs geared to protect the health and safety of company employees, visitors, and contractors and to protect any impact on the environment
- Engaging with workers to identify potentially unsafe activities, work practices, and use of equipment or tools at the plant
- Ensuring that employees are informed of EHS protocols and training is conducted as required
- Promoting safe and professional work practices and conditions that are compliant with environmental, health, and safety policies, regulations, and best practices
- Documenting and reporting EHS audit findings, EHS incidents, root cause analysis results and corrective actions into the Ardagh Risk Management System
- Assisting in the preparation of EHS reports, assessments, and records for internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies
- Keeping abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
- Independent thinking and ability to resolve regulatory and technical issues to best advise management on resolving EHS issues
- Persuasive communication skills for training and reporting findings
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Ability to interpret OSHA and EPA regulations and related safety/environmental regulations
- Professional certification (e.g. CSP, CIH, CHMM)
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- ISO 14001/45001 experience
- Experience in creating Power Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards
