Full-Time Medical Assistant (Bilingual Preferred)

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves both clinical and front desk responsibilities, supporting physicians and ensuring a smooth, efficient patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Take and record patient vitals, including blood pressure
• Prepare and label specimens for testing, processing, and storage
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms
• Enter clinical data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
• Obtain diagnostic reports and hospital notes; generate after-visit summaries
• Register patients in the EMR system, verify insurance eligibility, and obtain necessary pre-authorizations
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
• Perform check-in, check-out, referrals, and follow-up appointment scheduling

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Coordinator, or in a related healthcare role
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Experience in direct patient care and in a fast-paced primary care clinic strongly preferred
• Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Creole preferred

Schedule

Must be available to work alternating Sundays and some evenings until 7:00 PM.
