CDL Bus Driver

Full Time School Bus DriverSalary: $18.78 to 23.91 per hour. Eligible for a One Medical membership benefit paid by the district. CDL Required - the district will assist the hired candidate in obtaining their bus endorsement as well as a CDL license if needed.Job Summary: To provide safe and efficient transportation so each student enjoys the fullest possible advantage from the District's Curriculum and extra curriculum programs.Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentMust be 21 years of ageObtain and maintain Colorado Class B P25 Commercial Driver's LicenseObtain and Maintain First Aid and CPR certificationHave motor vehicle record checkDOT Physical examinationSubmit to Drug and Alcohol testing prior to and during employmentReports To: Transportation DirectorResponsibilities:Performs daily pre and post-trip inspection on bus or vanMaintains bus cleanlinessMaintains fluid levelsReports unsafe vehicle conditionsCompletes, maintains and turns in paperworkObeys all traffic lawsDrives bus routes according to stop locations and schedulesPicks up and discharges students only at authorized stopsDisciplines students fairly and consistentlySuccessfully works with staff, students and the public in a positive mannerDresses in a professional and clean mannerReports all accidents and completes required reportsPerforms first aid and CPR functions as necessary in emergency situationsOther duties which may be assigned as neededTravel Requirements: Travels to and from school district buildings, to vehicle service stations, field trip locations and other destinations are required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of all traffic laws, regulations, road signs and related information.Manual dexterity sufficient to operate the bus, conduct pre-trip inspections, and clean the bus.Visual and auditory acuity within professionally determined normal ranges, with correction if needed.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Effective organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.Ability to learn and comprehend information from procedures manuals and other materials.Ability to comprehend and follow traffic signs required.Ability to physically move through the bus, center and classrooms.Ability to maintain composure and perform responsibilities under pressure and in cases of accidents or other emergencies.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.FLSA Status: Nonexempt
