Logistics Analyst

Insight Global has a large manufacturing client seeking a Freight Analyst to support its logistics and supply chain operations. This role will play a key part in managing transportation data, analyzing carrier performance, and supporting procurement initiatives across rail, road, and marine transportation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight analytics and the ability to turn data into actionable insights that improve cost efficiency and service levels. Key

Responsibilities:

- Analyze transportation rate tables and evaluate cost structures across carriers

- Support freight sourcing initiatives, including bid evaluations and pricing comparisons

- Assist in maintaining transportation management system (TMS) and ERP data (SAP TM rate tables, master data)

- Monitor carrier performance metrics (on-time delivery, service levels, POD compliance, etc.)

- Provide data-driven recommendations on logistics strategies, cost savings opportunities, and vendor selection

- Partner closely with procurement and supply chain leadership to support ongoing initiatives

- Assist in evaluating proposals from carriers and brokers and support negotiation strategies

- Conduct ad hoc analysis on freight market trends and transportation alternatives

Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of experience in freight analytics, transportation, or a brokerage/logistics environment

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Experience working with carriers, transportation providers, or freight markets

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

- Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings clearly

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Familiarity with ERP or Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

- SAP experience
