We deliver data- and AI/ML-centric products to improve the safety, reliability, and affordability of energy for PG&E’s customers. Since 2019, DA&I efforts have focused on improving public safety. We continue this focus while playing a key role in providing a data management platform for all of PG&E, building products for users, and enabling the data governance practices needed to improve trust in data. A critical part of how we operate is to apply design thinking, DevOps, Agile, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and methodologies. Through these principles, we work as cross functional teams to help deliver valued data products to our business partners. Position Summary We are seeking an Expert Product Manager for the DA&I organization. The successful candidate will join and support the development of the Data Governance Technology Enablement team and will provide LOB owners with the enterprise tools needed to successfully implement Data Governance within their domain. You will partner with data owners/stewards/SMEs to create a roadmap that will be expressed in a prioritized backlog. You are a thought leader and information source for the data domain. You will foster a collaborative agile environment for the product teams. You will be hyper-focused on the customer and measure the success and value data governance unlocks. You must have a passion for building and leading great teams and will be responsible for developing an environment where teams can be successful by removing roadblocks and fostering a culture of agility. You must also possess a deep understanding of Data Governance and enabling technologies and act as an evangelist for the program. Job Responsibilities Thought leader for Data and Analytics Governance Develops and drives clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap for implementing of enterprise tools to support Data Governance and Data Management including: Data Catalog, Metadata Management, Reference Data Management, Data Model Management, Data Quality, MDMPuts the user first and thinks creatively and critically about data governance productsIs familiar with business pains and gains to clearly expresses product valueDefines and implements the right measures to make decisions and define success for each feature and functionExcellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to handle both executive-level discussions as well as functional/technical deep divesOwns end-to-end feature delivery, including working with user experience teams on prototypes, creating and prioritizing user stories, analyzing user data to drive decision-making and documenting delivery of releasesWorks effectively with others and thoughtfully challenges the status quoTransforms product strategy into well-articulated business requirements, as well as using qualitative and quantitative data effectively to inform product direction and prioritizationLeads through influence rather than organization structuresMotivates, leads, and collaborates within product teams, including cross-functional product development teams Qualifications Minimum: High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED DiplomaJob-related experience, 5 yearsExperience as a Product Manager of an agile development teamRelevant product experience in an enterprise environmentExperience implementing and/or working with data governance principles, tools, and processes, 3 years Desired: MBA or Consulting experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceExperience with data governance technical enablementExperience as Product Manager, Agile Environment, 5 yearsExperience with Jira or similar Agile delivery toolsExperience with a variety of data technologies, including traditional databases, cloud database & object stores, ETL, metadata management Product Manager, Scrum Master, or other Agile certificationsProficiency with Master Data Management Experience implementing Enterprise programs and associated stakeholder & change managementStrong writing and communication skillsCollaborative - has strong interpersonal skills; cares about and works well with teammatesWillingness to impact beyond defined role
