JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Charleston, WV Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: Oct 01, 2026 Apr 01, 2027 Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8am 5pm Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Travel covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults (18+), average age 58 Patient Volume/Census: 9 per day Case Mix: Advanced Gastroenterology, ERCP, EUS FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner Support Staff Available: APPs: 9, RNs: several, MAs: many Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES ERCP (general and therapeutic) EUS JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active WV license or Universal License (IMLC) Board: Required DEA: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Experience: Open DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide advanced gastroenterology coverage including ERCP and EUS procedures. Manage outpatient clinic schedule Monday Friday, 8am 5pm. Provide support to the call team by adding urgent inpatient cases to the schedule. Collaborate with 9 APPs and support staff across 3 GI locations. Maintain accurate patient records in Cerner EMR.
