Position Overview:
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join a small, close-knit construction company. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including entering invoices, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records.
• Review and process approximately 15–25 invoices per day received through email.
• Prepare and issue checks, process deposits, and assist with payment tracking.
• Support billing activities, including AIA billing for construction projects.
• Prepare accounting reports and provide updates on financial activity.
• Assist with reconciliation and general accounting tasks as needed.
• Answer incoming phone calls and communicate professionally with customers regarding billing, insurance questions, and account-related inquiries.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records within the accounting system.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, check processing, and reporting.
• Experience working in an office environment.
• Comfortable communicating over the phone with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar systems preferred).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with AIA billing is highly preferred.
