Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse ICU provides specialized patient care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit, ensuring safety and high-quality outcomes. They coordinate care plans, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver efficient, compassionate treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions continuously and accurately to determine urgent care needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in accordance with unit standards and patient requirements.
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols, ensuring safety and adherence to regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and their families to facilitate clear communication and shared decision-making.
• Document patient information thoroughly and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
• Stay current with ICU best practices, certifications, and institutional policies to ensure optimal care delivery.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California.
• Possess at least two years of recent ICU experience or completion of an approved ICU training course.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills and familiarity with healthcare technology.
• Hold current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Be able to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
