Adjunct Instructor - Dental Hygiene (HRLY)

Adjunct Instructor (Dental Hygiene) Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Dental Hygiene) position in the Health & Public Safety Technology department in the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College's main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta. Under general supervision of the Dean of Health & Public Safety Technology and the Dental Hygiene Program Coordinator, the Adjunct Dental Hygiene instructor provides instruction to students in the Dental Hygiene program. This is a part-time position, and it requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques. Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following: Primarily responsible for teaching dental hygiene students head and neck anatomy didactic theory. Clinical teaching. Collaborates with the program faculty and staff regarding admissions policies, curriculum issues, learning techniques, clinical policies, remediation, and accreditation policies. Versed in the Dental Hygiene field and maintains current knowledge in subject area, specialty Dental subjects, and technology. Follows approved clinical curriculum standards and course syllabi. Monitors student use of supplies, materials, and equipment. Ability to work with culturally and economically diverse backgrounds in a team spirited environment. Attends meetings as required. Observes and enforces the institution's policies and regulations. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and Perform additional duties, as assigned. Competencies: Must possess and demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills. Familiar with Dentrix, Dexis, intraoral camera, ultrasonic technology, hygiene instrumentation techniques, and OSHA sterilization protocols. Demonstrate critical thinking, knowledge, judgment, awareness, understanding, memory, and the ability to process information in a clear and effective manner. Have positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, and well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Google Documents and Public Speaking. Minimum Qualifications: Must possess and demonstrate the following: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a closely related field. Three (3) years of paid work experience in the Dental field. Licensed registered Dental Hygienist in the State of Ga. Teaching and clinical experience.
