Brake Operator (2nd Shift)

JOB SUMMARY

TheBrake Operator is responsible for operating and setting up press brake equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to customer specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to troubleshoot forming issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Brake Operator will work collaboratively with team members to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate various sizes of brake press equipment to form metal components to specification.Perform all necessary setup and layout of equipment, tooling, and jobs.Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions accurately.Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.Perform forming operations to specified parameters while maintaining quality standards.Troubleshoot and correct forming issues as necessary.Log all production activity into the ERP system (JobBOSS).Assist Cell Leader in quoting and evaluating new projects as needed.Perform preventive maintenance on brake press equipment and tooling.Assist with material handling and movement using forklift equipment as required.Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all company safety procedures.Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 3 years of brake press operating experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment.Experience operating Cincinnati Incorporated brake press equipment or similar machinery preferred.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Strong understanding of measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers.Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.Experience with roll-forming equipment is a plus.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Must possess excellent communication skills and work effectively in a team environment.Technical training or certification in machining or metal fabrication is a plus.Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and a positive Can-Do attitude.
