About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), every other weekend Experience: 2 years acute inpatient telemetry RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Acute care nursing, patient assessment, care plan development, care plan implementation, care plan evaluation Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care while mentoring and precepting staff. Responsibilities include: Assessment - Performing assessments and reassessments according to policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition; demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation - Initiating, prioritizing, and implementing the plan of care and reviewing and revising the plan as indicated. Collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services; utilizing resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patient/family. Evaluation - Monitoring and documenting response to clinical interventions. Education - Facilitating, coordinating, providing, and evaluating education specific to patient/family needs and as appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge. Leadership - Delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; functioning as a mentor and preceptor; demonstrating, encouraging, and facilitating teamwork; identifying and appropriately communicating opportunities for improvement; participating in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implementing practice changes; complying with regulatory standards; participating in the Practice Governance model. Required skills include: Acute care nursing, patient assessment, care plan development, care plan implementation, and care plan evaluation. Additional skills include: Patient education, mentoring, precepting, teamwork, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. Required education includes a Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN).
