Job Title Senior Data Analyst, Health Economics Research Department School of Public Health – Department of Health Services Policy & Practice Job Description The Senior Data Analyst will support the Department’s research centers by performing quantitative analyses on administrative datasets, including health care claims, to inform payment reform, long‑term care, Medicare and Medicare Advantage, commercial price growth, market structure, and state affordability initiatives. The analyst will design studies, construct and manage databases, conduct statistical programming and analysis, and communicate results through written and graphical reports. Collaboration with faculty‑led teams will foster independent thinking, problem solving, and collegiality. The position is hybrid eligible. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degrees in economics, applied economics, or closely related quantitative fields are strongly preferred. Required Qualifications Hands‑on experience implementing regression‑based analyses using statistical software. Training in econometrics and causal inference methods. Experience working with large, complex datasets. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and validate data. Ability to communicate technical results clearly in written and graphical form. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with administrative health care data (e.g., Medicare claims, commercial claims, or electronic health records). Prior experience as a research assistant or in a policy research environment. Familiarity with the U.S. health care system and health policy topics. Benefits Benefits of Working at Brown.
