City : Austin State : Texas Neos is Seeking an AI & Application Developer (Lead) for a long-term contract role with our client in Austin, TX. ***ONSITE - ONLY CANDIDATES CURRENTLY RESIDING IN THE AUSTIN, TX AREA (within 50 miles) WILL BE CONSIDERED*** This role is Onsite ( Austin, TX 78744) No calls, no emails, please respond directly to the "apply" link with your resume and contact details. Job Description Leads the design, development, and delivery of artificial intelligence, automation, and rapid application development solutions that support agency business objectives. Serves as both a people leader and hands-on technical contributor, providing architectural guidance, software engineering expertise, and oversight of development teams. Establishes engineering standards, AI development practices, and solution delivery frameworks while collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement. Responsibilities
Minimum Yrs of Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, AI engineers, and application developers.
- Design and oversee development of AI-enabled applications, copilots, workflows, and automation solutions.
- Establish software engineering standards, development practices, and code review processes.
- Provide technical leadership for cloud, data, AI, and application architecture decisions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business needs into technology solutions.
- Oversee rapid application development initiatives using modern low-code, no-code, and traditional development platforms.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
- Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, accessibility, and governance requirements.
- Participate in software design, development, testing, and deployment activities as needed.
- Manage team workload, priorities, and professional development.
Minimum Yrs of Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years leading technical teams or development programs.
- Experience with AI/ML technologies, generative AI, Azure AI services, Copilot technologies, or similar platforms.
- Experience with cloud-native application development.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
