Electrical Service Engineer (Entry Level) Cedar Rapids IA

Waters seeks an entry-level Electrical Service Engineer to provide field service support for diagnostic and laboratory instruments across Cedar Rapids and surrounding territories. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing automated laboratory systems while managing customer relationships and driving service revenue. Position requires travel up to 50% and occasional on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, upgrade, and repair laboratory instruments including KiestrA, Microbiology, Molecular, and LC/MS systems
• Respond promptly to customer service needs and communicate work performed with follow-up plans
• Generate field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment relocation offerings
• Schedule and complete proactive system upgrades with customers
• Document customer complaints and maintain inventory of spare parts and assigned equipment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, or Biomedical discipline
• Understanding of electronics, electro-mechanical devices, PLCs, and pneumatics
• Intermediate knowledge of information systems networking architecture design
• Intermediate understanding of computer software operating systems
• Valid state-issued Real ID driver's license with 3+ years driving history
• Ability to lift 30-40 lbs and perform fine motor tasks repeatedly
• Ability to travel up to 50% outside home geographic area
