Position: Laboratory Assistant-Certified

We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant-Certified to support our Clinical Laboratory operations. This role involves assisting the Laboratory Scientist and performing phlebotomy procedures, along with non-technical aspects of patient testing. The ideal candidate will contribute to maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute all aspects of venipuncture, including heel-stick and finger-stick procedures.
• Utilize proper aseptic techniques during patient care procedures.
• Select appropriate specimens based on test requests, utilizing knowledge and research when necessary.
• Manage all aspects of specimen collection, labeling, and processing efficiently.
• Complete laboratory paperwork accurately, including patient requisitions, special documentation, and daily checklists.
• Monitor laboratory conditions, including temperature, and prepare monthly records and annual reports.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Phlebotomist (CPT-1 or CPT-2) is required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• High school diploma is necessary.
• One year of experience as a Phlebotomist is preferred.
