Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (08:00 - 17:00)

Employment Type: Contract / Temporary
License/Certs: CA license required, BLS certification
Experience: Minimum 3 years working with pediatric populations in a medical setting
Hourly Pay Rate: $160.80/hr

What You'll Do
- Provide pediatric optometry exams and patient care in an outpatient setting
- Conduct comprehensive strabismus, binocular vision, and vision screenings
- Perform contact lens fittings, including complex pediatric fittings (preferred)
- Collaborate with support staff, ophthalmologists, and other specialists
- Manage a high-volume caseload with approximately 12-14 patients daily, including patients with developmental delays and on the autism spectrum
- Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation
- Assess patients with various cognitive abilities and co-managed cases with other pediatric specialties
What You Need
- Required:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- CA state license
- BLS certification
- At least 3 years of experience working with pediatric patients in a medical environment
- Preferred:
- Pediatric residency experience
- Experience with complex contact lens fitting for children
About the Assignment This outpatient pediatric optometry role offers exposure to diverse patient needs, including children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and other neurological conditions. The facility is well-equipped with diagnostic imaging tools and supportive technologists. You'll deliver high-quality eye care to a broad pediatric population including some adults with specific visual needs.
