Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with visual impairments as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in the Broomall and greater Delaware County area. This contract opportunity offers a flexible, itinerant assignment, where you'll travel between schools and support school-age students with diverse needs. Work collaboratively with educators and staff to create inclusive learning environments and ensure every student has the resources and support to succeed.

Qualifications & Experience:

• State certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings
• Strong understanding of assistive technology and accessible instructional materials
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with school teams, families, and outside agencies
• Ability to travel between sites within Delaware County as required
• Organized, adaptable, and able to manage a varied caseload

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative instruction to school-aged students with visual impairments in multiple schools across the county
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs and goals
• Promote independence and academic success for students by recommending and integrating assistive technology and accommodations
• Support classroom teachers and staff by providing training, strategies, and accessible materials
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and adapt teaching plans as necessary
• Communicate effectively with families, educational teams, and other service providers

This role is scheduled for 30 hours per week, allowing for a balanced approach to your professional and personal commitments. As an itinerant position, variety and mobility are built into your day-to-day experience.
